Weekly Wish List: All that Glitters

1. Topshop Glitter Velvet Midi Bodycon Dress- Midi dresses are something I am really loving at the moment, and this one from Topshop is lovely for a late Christmas party or New Years Eve! The Black velvet with gold glitter pattern, make it look luxurious and expensive. I think the cut of this dress is flattering for many body shapes, especially the 3/4 length sleeves. Also this dress is available in a mini and skater version, which means there is a style to suit everyone.

2. Chanel Les 4 Ombres Quadra Eyeshadow in Smokey Eyes- I have a few Chanel makeup products which I love, but I've had my eye on some of these palettes for a while. This smokey eye quad palette has four shades which look and pigmented to create a perfect dramatic eye.

3. River Island Pink Space Print Midi Tube Dress- Another Midi dress, this time in a great galaxy print. I think this is more suitable for daytime wear, with tights, boots, leather jacket and even a fedora. Maxi skirts were very popular over S/S 2012, however midi's I think are now making a statement.

4. Topshop Nails in Jem- Topshop nail varnishes are great, and I am especially loving their extended range of glitter polishes. This red glitter polish is gorgeous, a great party alternative to the classic red manicure.

Lush Oatifix Fresh Face Mask Review

Firstly, I'd like to apologise as I've been really neglecting blogging recently due to my university deadlines. However, I shall try my best to get a few more posts out over the Christmas week! I've been really wanting a Lush face mask, and to my surprise my boyfriend presented me with this called 'Oatifix'. From a very young age I've had very sensitive skin, and I've always been told oat based bath milks are very good for locking in moisture. This is a fresh face mask, which means it needs to be kept in the fridge, and will go out of date in about a month, so make sure you check the base of the tub. This particular mask is for cleansing, softening and moisturising skin, and also contains illipe butter to reduce redness. I have been using this a couple of times a week, applying a generous layer, and leaving it for 5-10 minutes to work its magic. My housemates have said it looks as though I have dipped my face in porridge, which is true. This mask also smells amazing, with the combination of bananas, vanilla and oats it does smell good enough to eat. From using this I have noticed a difference in my skin, particularly becoming smoother I usually follow this by a good helping of Nivea moisturiser before going to bed to lock in the moisture. However next time I would try a clay based mask (if I can find one suitable for sensitive skin) just to draw out dirt in the pores, for a weekly deep clean.

Christmas Gift Guide for Him

So I've almost finished my Christmas shopping, so I thought I would do a 'Gift Guide' post to help anyone who is lost for ideas on what to buy for him this Christmas. Whether its your Boyfriend, Dad, Grampa, Uncle or just a male friend, I have a couple of present ideas I think are fail proof this Christmas. However, as both my Dad and Boyfriend have said they have checked out my blog a few times I need to be careful not to give their presents away.

1. Calvin Klein Boxers- I think a nice set of boxers are always a great gift idea, with John Lewis and Debenhams doing up to 40% selected selected styles at the moment this makes this gift more affordable. Also, T.K Maxx all year round do great deals (normally on individual packs). Calvin Klein also have a variety of styles and prints, which is great to suit different men in your family. A cheaper alternative is Topman's pack of 3 boxers in a variety of lovely designs and colours for £16.

2. Topman Reindeer Patterned Jumper- So we remember those Christmas jumpers which appeared on Bridget Jones' Diary, many people are into their Christmas jumpers and there are so many lovely knits on the high street this winter! Like this Reindeer patterned jumper from Topman, perfect for any man in your life this Christmas. Some jumpers are a little pricey, but the other day I found some lovely alternatives in Primark for about £15. If you would rather get a jumper a little less festive for all year round, Zara and doing some lovely plain jumpers in a variety of colours, at a reasonable price of £19.99.

3. A selected Gadget- With gadget shops coming back for Christmas shopping, the majority of guys love a gadget to play with on Christmas day after stuffing themselves with dinner. Last year I got a few remote control helicopters for a few male family members and they were a renounding success. There are some great gadgets, both novelty and useful available at the moment and I think they do make a great gift, however annoying some of them may be.

4. Personalised Pint Glass- One gift website I have come across whilst online shopping this Christmas is www.gettingpersonal.co.uk. It offers such a great variety of gifts and the opportunity to make it extra special with a personal message. The products range in price which is perfect for different people with different budgets. One gift I really am fond of is the personalised pint glass. In a variety of designs for £9.99 I think this is such a good gift for any guy this Christmas as the personal message and design can cater to each personalty.

5. Fragrance Gift Set- Fragrances are the perfect gift for any occasion. Personally I think justifying spending money of perfume is something I find hard. So I normally get perfume for Christmas or my birthday. One thing I love is the gift sets which are available for quite a few fragrances now. John Lewis and Debenhams having a 10% off fragrances this week is a great little money saver. Also this again allows people with different budgets and knowing people's tastes choice to chose one that fits their personality. I have pictured the Paco Rabanne One Million gift set which comes with a shower gel, which is a great way to keep the fragrance fresh for the whole day or evening.

Weekend Wish List: Punk Rocker with Flowers in her Hair

1. Nails Inc. The After Party- I love the colour combination of this set. Normally with sets of nail varnishes I find there is one which I don't like as much, but I think I would wear all three of these nail varnishes. They are all (as the name suggests) perfect for the party season, also a great gift idea with the run up to Christmas.

2. Dolly Bow Bow, Libby Floral Head Crown, Lilac- I've seen quite a few flower crowns on the high street recently. Some I find are a bit too extravagant for every day wear, this one from Dolly Bow Bow however is just about right. It would look lovely in the day to add something to an outfit, but the lilac colour also makes it a statement piece for the evening.

3. River Island Black Coated Mini Skater Skirt- I've been hunting around for a skirt to wear with tights and jumpers this winter. I have found myself returning every skater skirt I buy, as they never look nice on me. Although I love the leather and velvet skater skirts which are all around the high street at the moment. This skirt from River Island looks more structured than others I have come across, which may be better suited to my figure, so I might have to try this on in the shop.

4. Forever 21 Burgundy Cable Knit Jumper- I've been on the hunt for a burgundy jumper for this season, to wear with shirts for a cosy outfit. I had a look around and found they were quite expensive for what the quality I was seeing. I then was told by a friend that Forever 21 knitwear was cheaper but very good quality. As there is not a Forever 21 close to where I live, I did have a look on their website and came across this one, which is exactly what I was looking for!

Tell Me About it Stud

Primark Black Studded Clutch £6
Topshop Studded Suede Clutch £38

I am loving studded detail at the moment and was in need of a black clutch bag. I had seen that Primark's bags were really good this A/W season so I thought I would have a look at what bargains they had to offer! I came across this lovely black studded clutch for just £6 (it is also available in nude) which I just had to have. Whilst christmas shopping and having a nose about the shops myself I've seen very similar styles to this bag for example as you can see the Topshop suede bag at £38 and also Zara (not too sure how much that was and I cannot see it on their website). Although the Topshop version comes in a variety of colours and also has a long strap I found myself much preferring Primark's dupe! The detail on the bag makes it look expensive, from the gold studs to the black tassel keyring. I normally am not a fan of floppy clutch bags as I find them a bit of a hassle to carry on a night out, but I filled my bag with a few makeup essentials and my purse and found it wasn't too bad. I would recommend this bag to everyone, both colours are lovely and I think it can really add to an outfit in the evening, for just £6 you cannot go wrong!

Make Up Empties

Yves Saint Laurent Touche Éclat Radient Touch No. 1- This is a loved highlighter across the beauty industry. It is a click and apply style, with a brush at the end, a key product to brighten up your complexion and I feel is best used under the eye for any dark circles. It also works well to contour the face. I used this combined with the YSL Touch Éclat foundation and they both work so well together. This product is one I was introduced to by my Mum when I started to wear more makeup, and I'm so glad she did as this is now a staple in my makeup bag. I do find it is very important to moisturise well before applying, as a few times I have noticed it can become a little chalky. However, this is a makeup product I would highly recommend as they have a variety of shades to suit every complexion, and it's a product everyone should have in their makeup bag as it is so versatile.

Yves Saint Laurent Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils (Luxurious Mascara for a False Lash Effect No. 1)- This is a little more expensive than I would normally pay for a mascara, but luckily with my job I get discount at John Lewis so it makes it a little more affordable. This mascara is a more everyday mascara in comparison to other YSL ones, it has such a lovely finish and is best used after curling the eyelashes. However, it is really important you shut the tube firmly in between uses as if not (which I learnt the hard way) the formula drys out very quickly. This mascara can be layered for a more evening and volumising look, and especially on the outer lashes to create a lovely shape.

Rimmel London Glam Eyes Professional Liquid Eyeliner in Black Glamour- This eyeliner is one I have used for a couple of years now. I love to use liquid eyeliner everyday and I like a pure black finish. I have tried the Barry M liquid eyeliner in the past, but I am not very keen on the applicator. This eyeliner has a thin brush which can take a bit of practice to get the perfect line, but the colour is very good. I always find I apply one thin line, to get the shape of how I want my eyeliner to look, then I add another thin coat to get the colour I require. This eyeliner is perfect for creating the flick off the end of the lash line too, and it lasts throughout the day and doesn't budge. I always am tempted to try out a higher end eyeliner, but I worry that they may disappoint me as Rimmel's price point and combination of the quality of this product make it an all round great buy.

Weekend Wishlist: Black and Gold

Topshop Crystal Stud Tube Skirt- I think midi skirts are so gorgeous and I really want to find a one perfect for the party season. I found this lovely one the black again with gold studs and crystals to give it a bit more edge. I have also found some lovely skirts very similar to this tube style midi on asos for absolute bargain prices!

Primark Black Fringed Shirt- At £12 this is an absolute steal, fringing is a trend I love and this subtle detail on this shirt gives it a bit more texture. The gold buttons also make it look expensive!

Ebay Gold Spiked Bracelet- I've seen this bracelet in a few shops and for what they are I thought they were quite expensive, so I had a search on Ebay and found hundreds of bracelets very similar for as little as 99p! I think people really underestimate what Ebay and such sites have to offer, I've recently started selling some of my unwanted clothes (some brand new!) for some extra money.  Also a few months ago I invested in some gold collar tips, which were about £2.50 including delivery which people regularly mistake for Topshop (I will be doing a post of them soon).

Primark Black Clutch- Everyone needs a staple black clutch and this one from again from primark is            so classy and simple, I love the gold detailing! I have also spotted another clutch in Primark I am desperate to get my hands on. It is black with gold studs on the front (also available in nude) for just £8 very similar to the ones currently in store at River Island and Zara.

The Mad Hatter

Winter has definitely kicked in, so it is time to layer up, wrap up warm and get Christmas shopping. This winter I am wanting to add a hat to almost every outfit. There are so many lovely styles about at the minute, Millie Mackintosh and Alexa Chung have jumped on this hype and make me rather hat envious.

1. Topshop Felt Pork Pie Hat- These hats are available in a few colours on the website (I even spotted a red leopard print one on the website the other day). This black one however is more versatile, and would look amazing with a white shirt, pinafore dress on top, teamed with some brogues for a cute preppy look.

2. River Island Green Basket Weave Beanie Hat- I love the bottle green colour of this hat, and everyone needs a cute knitted hat at winter!

3. Accessorize Feather Trim Trilby- This is certainly a style which Millie has been very keen on! I love this style of hat and Accessorize have a few colours of these, which I adore. I saw a lovely navy one in store a few weeks ago and I was not sure wether to  get it, but I reckon it will be my next purchase! I think this hat is a perfect ''chuck on'' hat to add to a simple outfit!

4. Accessorize Luxe Fur Cossack- Last year I saw a lot of these hats and headbands on the high street, I was determined to get one for the ski season. These hats are so luxurious looking, and so cosy! Another plus about this is that it would be a lovely hat for a busy day out this winter and the perfect cover up if you find yourself having a bad hair day.

Weekend Wishlist: Dream On

1. Topshop Blackwatch Check playsuit Green-  I saw one of the staff in my local Topshop wearing a very similar playsuit to this in grey. Then I came across this little beauty the other week and fell in love! I'm loving the tartan look and this colouring is not overwhelming and would look amazing with a crisp white shirt underneath. I have to admit I have just ordered this because I just could not resist.

2.Topshop Petite Lace Panel Crop- black- Crop tops are everywhere at the moment and black lace on this one from Topshop is gorgeous! I think black lace is a very elegant and expensive look, this would look lovely on an night out.

3. Hotel Chocolat Cookie Choc Chip Giant Slab- I know this is not something I usually feature in my blog, but my Dad a few months ago bought me a little Hotel Chocolat slab, and it was just to die for! I am such a chocoholic and this combination sounds so yummy!

4. Ciaté Advent Calendar- This is such a lovely gift idea for Christmas (although a little early). It comes with 17 of Ciaté's best selling mini polishes, 4 mini caviar blends and 3 exclusive glitter shades. At £38 it is pricey, but when you consider how many nail varnishes you are getting and a normal size Ciaté nail varnish costing around £9 I think this is excellent value!

5. Michael Kors Rose Gold Stainless steel bracelet watch- I love Michael Kors watches, and I have had my eye on this Rose Gold one for quite some time now. I love the contrast of the boyish links with the Swarovski crystal dial. I have noticed that River Island have designed watches in a similar style to Michael Kors which a much lower price tag.

Lipsticks I'm Loving

(Listed as they appear in the last photo)

1. Clinique Long Last Lipstick in Blushing Nude-
I have had this lipstick for a while and to be honest I have not worn this as often as the others. My mum always always praised Clinique makeup as they are a brand which take on board people who have sensitive skin, so they were the makeup brand I started with. Blushing Nude is a very rich shade with brown tones.

2. Topshop Lips in Secret Admirer-
I've been loving the Topshop makeup range (especially their nail varnishes) so I thought I would give their lipsticks a try. This shade is quite a bit lighter than my natural lip colour and I was a bit worried how it would look on, however I love it! It is quite a girly pink but with a couple of layers it is very elegant shade. The only critique I do have is it is not as hydrating as the other lipsticks in this post.

3. Barry M no. 160-
I bought this lipstick for Halloween this year, as I was dressing up as Black Swan and when researching the makeup I noticed she wears a shade similar to this. I was a little worried as when I saw this I thought it may overwhelm my fair complexion, however when I tested it on my hand it was a lot lighter. Although I bought this for fancy dress I will be wearing it a lot this winter, I love the vampy makeup trend and think this teamed with my black velvet skater skirt and shirt would look lovely.

4. Chanel Rouge Allure in Confidentielle no. 66-
I absolutely adore this lipstick the colour is only slightly different to my natural lip colour, which makes it perfect for both day and evening. Chanel have four lipstick collections, the idea of the Chanel Rouge Allure collection is to have an intense colour with a satin finish, I would very much recommend this lipstick as it is long lasting and only would need one or two touch ups.

5. Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Adventure no. 57-
This is a lipstick from another collection from Chanel, Rouge Coco Shine. This collection glides on the lips like a balm, and is very hydrating perfect for on the go people. This subtle light pink is very glossy and has some shimmer to it which makes it lovely for a night out.

Dear Santa, Wish List no. 2

1. Topshop Check Ponte Trousers- I love these trousers they embody the heritage trend. A lovely alternative to the classic black skinny jean!

2. Topshop Velvet Skater Skirt- Skater skirts have been around a lot recently, I've been contemplating buying a leather one. Then I came across thing little gem on the Topshop website. Earlier this year Topshop were selling a velvet skater dress and unfortunately they had none in my size left, so this is a perfect alternative!

3. Chanel Allure Nouveau no. 90- I love Chanel lipsticks as they are so moisturising and long lasting! I saw this colour the other day and fell in love with it! The combination of peach and coral tones make it wearable both day and night. I will definitely be putting this on my Christmas list!

4. River Island Black Studded Leather Gloves- Last winter I bought some faux fur gloves from River Island and they were such a good investment! I've been wanting some new leather gloves for some time now and these are just lovely and look very expensive.

Weekend Wish List: Grey Skies

1. Topshop Shortsleeve Boucle Tee- I love the boucle material which is everywhere at the moment! I feel the material teamed with a classic black skinny jean would create a really expensive look, perfect for both day and night. 2. Topshop Nails in Granite- This colour is a lovely alternative to the black and deep reds which are always popular. From using Topshop nail varnishes before (with a good topcoat) they last and don't chip. 3. Topshop ALVIN Studded Western Boots- I am in desperate need of some new winter boots and these are perfect! The stud and buckle detail I love and personally I would go for black as they are versatile to wear with anything, but they are also available in tan and burgundy.4. River Island Grey Longline Blazer- This woolen blazer is perfect for layering up this winter! I actually bought this the other day, as River Island were having a 20% off event for students (so it turned out to be a steal!) Since buying it I've worn it with a buttoned up white shirt, American Apparel Riding pants and tan brogues for a preppy look.

Sanctuary Spa Salt Scrub

I bought this tester sachet of 'Sanctuary Spa Salt Scrub' as I was in desperate need of a new body scrub. The full size version is quite pricey so this sachet was ideal at £1.75 to test it out. I used this scrub in the shower and it is quite course so I would say its only a once a week scrub. It smells lovely and leaves your skin feeling so smooth afterwards. For best results using a really good moisturiser afterwards locks in the softness of the skin. I will definitely be buying the full size scrub on my next visit to the shops.

Gold Finger

Glittered nail varnishes are appearing everywhere at the moment ready for the party season. When I came across this 'Topshop Nails in Stardust' online I just had to buy it! Having very fair skin, some nail varnishes I buy because I love the colour, once applied end up not suiting my skin tone. However this one did! I filed my nails into an oval shape (excuse how horribly short they are it's for  netball) and applied a thin layer of 17 (for Boots) base coat. I applied one coat of Stardust and found it not enough all over colour, so I ended up applying around three thin coats for my desired effect. I have had quite a few people already comment on how they like the colour, and i think teamed with a LBD the colour would look lovely (Especially at Christmas and New Year)!
